Will Bischoff joined Homesteaders Life Company in 2015 as vice president of strategic markets. In his current role, he draws on more than 20 years of experience in the funeral profession, including 13 years with Keystone Group Holdings as operations controller and vice president of corporate development. While at Keystone, Bischoff analyzed hundreds of funeral homes’ financial statements. Now at Homesteaders, he enjoys working with funeral home owners to implement preneed strategies for long-term success. Bischoff holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s in corporate finance.
Robert L. Buhrig, Jr., CFSP, CPC

Bob Buhrig, Jr. began his funeral service career in 1987; in April 2011 he became owner and operator of the Myers-Buhrig Funeral Home, which has served the community for over 105 years. A crematory, café, and reception services were added to the firm in 2011; later that year Myers-Buhrig also became a full service monument dealer. There have been other significant improvements and upgrades to better serve the community since then.

Bill McQueen was admitted to practice law in Florida approximately 30 years ago. Steve Shaffer
CEO and President, Homesteaders Life Company
Steve Shaffer, who joined Homesteaders in 2014, is a well-known and influential executive in the funeral and cemetery business. Prior to joining Homesteaders, he co-founded and served as President-CEO of Foundation Partners Group, LLC. He led an organization created to combine the best aspects of conventional end-of-life care with new ideas and technologies. Steve also completed two three-year terms as a Funeral Service Foundation Trustee. His experience in the funeral service profession helps ensure Homesteaders is well-positioned to continue its strong tradition of growth, profitability and financial strength. He earned an undergraduate degree from Indiana University Bloomington.
