Headquartered in Yardley, Pennsylvania, Tecker International, a firm specializing in research, strategy and leadership, has completed projects for more than 2,000 organizations across the globe. Tecker has served as an association executive and board member for both not-for-profit and private-sector organizations. He has assisted a wide variety of trade, professional and philanthropic organizations in the redesign of governance, programs and operations so they might more effectively navigate today’s rapidly shifting environments. His published works for ASAE include Building a Knowledge-Based Culture (co-written with Jean S. Frankel and Kermit M. Waukesha County Heroin Task Force
Philip Pares is a retired high school principal and assistant school superintendent who has lost two adult children to opioid overdose. He is currently actively engaged with the Waukesha County, Wisconsin, Heroin Task Force in community education efforts. Pares serves as a member of the leadership team and is an active member concentrating on the “Prevention Pillar.” He is also involved with “Elevate You,” a grant provider working with the Department of Health and Human Services and numerous other coalitions. In addition, he serves with the Milwaukee CAN group, which focuses on heroin addiction concerns.
Regional Chief Medical Officer, Beacon Health Options
Steven Bentsen, MD, is regional chief medical officer for Beacon Health Options. He has managed a private psychiatric practice and served as medical director for freestanding and medical/surgical psychiatric hospitals, psychiatric residential treatment facilities and partial hospitals. Currently, Bentsen is a member of the clinical faculty of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He’s also served in numerous academic appointments, is past president of the North Carolina Psychiatric Association and has served on various medical boards and committees. Bentsen received a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed his psychiatry training and earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina.
President and Funeral Director, Walker Funeral Homes
Keith Walker has served as president of Walker Funeral Homes since 1997 and has expanded his funeral business to include five locations, a crematory and a cremation society serving the Toledo area.
Walker Funeral Homes began the “Help With Heroin” campaign in January 2016, beginning with billboard, TV and radio ads. The purpose was to raise awareness of the scope of the opioid problem in the community and reduce the stigma associated with it so people could communicate and get help. Walker also launched helpwithheroin.com, where users, employers, family members and friends can directly access agencies for help.
Walker is a board member of Hospice of Northwest Ohio, the Zepf Center and the Toledo Area Small Business Association. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Sylvania and numerous chambers of commerce and is active at McCord Road Christian Church.
President, Lakeside Memorial Funeral Home
Charles A. Castiglia is a second-generation licensed funeral director in New York State with a bachelor of science degree in business management from Houghton College and a master’s degree in strategic leadership from Robert’s Wesleyan College. He is president of Lakeside Memorial Funeral Home in Hamburg, New York, and has earned the Certified Funeral Service Professional designation, as well as funeral celebrant certification. Castiglia is an active member of the Erie County, New York, Opioid Epidemic Task Force. He is 2017 president of the International Order of the Golden Rule and a past recipient of the Gold Exemplary Service Award. His firm has also won multiple NFDA Pursuit of Excellence Awards.
