Jay Dietz is a licensed funeral director in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. Following his graduation from the Cinncinnati College of Mortuary Science, he began working for a private firm in his hometown in North Dakota. In 1995, Dietz began managing funeral homes in Minnesota for Vertin Family Funeral Homes, a position he continued for 18 years before accepting a senior management role with the organization in 2013. His passion is to ensure that funeral service remains focused on providing the highest level of care to all families in their time of greatest need, regardless of the customs and traditions of the time. Dietz works in all areas of company operations, but is particularly fond of searching out the next leaders in the industry, and recruiting those who have the "it" factor for serving families.
C. Lynn Gibson

C. Lynn Gibson is a managing partner of Smith Life & Legacy in Maryville, TN. Gibson is also a licensed funeral director and a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner. His firm received the NFDA's Best of the Best Distinction in 2014. Gibson holds a PhD in practical theology and pastoral care and a DPhil in religion and society. He currently serves as a research associate for Stellenbosch University in South Africa.

He is an attorney at Gilligan Law Offices, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Gilligan obtained his law degree from Georgetown University Law School in 1979. He has authored the latest update of Mortuary Law and conducts seminars across the country on FTC Funeral Rule compliance, employment law issues, OSHA requirements, ADA and legal liabilities faced by death care professionals.

Doug Gober began his funeral service career forty years ago as a sales representative in the casket industry. Throughout his career he has earned numerous national awards from various organizations within the death care industry. Gober also served as a consultant on various marketing and merchandising projects conducted on an international scale. He recently partnered with The Foresight Companies in his quest to provide funeral and cemetery owners successful business solutions. Foresight enables Gober to expand his service offerings to include accounting, business valuations, human resources services, strategic business analysis, accounts receivable management and market research as well as financing.
NFDA Vice President, Cremation Services
Mike Nicodemus, NFDA vice president of cremation services, is a licensed funeral director and former vice president of cremation operations at Holloman-Brown Funeral Services & Crematory (with 8 locations in Tidewater, VA), where he worked for 34 years. Nicodemus is a graduate of Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and a member of the PIMS Board of Directors. He served as the President of the Cremation Association of North America (CANA) from October 2011 to August 2012, and was the Chair of the CANA Operators Certification Program for seven years. Nicodemus writes articles for funeral industry trade publications and frequently presents educational sessions at national conferences, via distance learning, and as the instructor for the NFDA Cremation Certification Program.

Lacy Robinson, CFSP, develops and facilitates continuing education training programs for NFDA members, establishing NFDA as the leading provider of training and development for funeral directors. Previously, Robinson served as director of professional development for Aurora Casket Company. She is a licensed funeral director/embalmer, a certified funeral celebrant and certified member of the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice. She holds a bachelors degree in communications from Georgetown College, and is also a graduate of Mid-America College of Funeral Service.

Adam J. Sanden, MBA, CPA, is a partner of Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Mentor, Ohio and has worked in the family business since 2007. He is responsible for controllership duties, treasury duties, economic strategy and forecasting of the business, and manages HR responsibilities for his staff of 24 employees. Prior to joining the family business, Sanden spent three years in private and public accounting, most recently as an assurance associate at Grant Thornton, LLP in downtown Cleveland. Sanden earned his BSBA in accountancy and MBA from John Carroll University. He also attended Lakeland Community College.
